Nelly Korda Provides Health Update
On Friday, Nelly Korda provided the first update on her condition since announcing that she suffered from a blood clot, a potentially serious medical condition that forced the Rolex Rankings No.2 player to withdraw from several events, including the season’s first major, The Chevron Championship.
In a note on her Instagram page, Korda wrote, “I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and messages I have received the last few weeks. Your kind words have helped me get through this challenging time and scary time.
“It wasn’t the start of the year I had hoped for to say the least.
“I recently underwent surgery for a blood clot in my subclavian vein. I am pleased to report that the procedure went well, and the doctors were happy with the outcome. I am no home recovering and preparing to start rehab. I am looking forward to getting back to 100% so I can begin practicing.
“Thank you again for the well-wishes and continued privacy.”
Along with the post were several pictures of Korda with her left arm bandaged, one apparently in the hospital and one at or near her home.
Korda’s older sister, Jessica, finished runner-up at The Chevron Championship, two shots behind Jennifer Kupcho. It was the elder Korda’s best finish in in a major.
