Team Woods currently leads the PNC Championship leaderboard.
In the parent-child battle tournament, Tiger and Charlie tied for first place with the teams of Langer and Singh after shooting a superb 13-under-par 59 at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Florida. The Woods duo shot no bogeys and 13 birdies to move to the top of the leaderboard.
That gives them a golden opportunity to become first-time champions with 18 holes to go on Sunday, but of course they have some top runners. Tiger Woods speaks out on Ryder Cup payout dispute as golf legend hails PGA ruling

Both the teams of Langer and Singh also had a clean round, both making an eagle and 11 birdies in the first round on Saturday. Unsurprisingly, all eyes were on Tiger and Charlie from day one and that is set to intensify on Sunday with a shot at the title.
Team Woods is competing in the fifth-straight PNC Championship, and the chance to play alongside his son is clearly huge for Woods, who described the 36-hole tournament as his ‘fifth major’ at this summer’s Open Championship. There is of course still plenty of work to do if they are to get over the line on Sunday. And it’s something Tiger is well aware of. “We’re here,” he said after the round. “There’s a lot of teams out there. We’ve got to shoot it again tomorrow, and, you know, make a bunch of birdies and hopefully we can do that and get off to a good start and carry that on the back nine.”
Team Woods is currently at the top of the PNC Championship leaderboard. In the Father-Son Scramble Tournament, Tiger and Charlie shot an impressive 59 (-13) to move into a tie for the lead with Team Langer and Team Singh at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Florida. That puts them in prime position to become their first champions on Sunday with 18 holes to go, but of course they have company at the top.

Team Langer and Team Singh were also bogey-free, scoring one eagle and 11 birdies in Saturday’s opening round. Unsurprisingly, all eyes were on Tiger and Charlie on the first day, and that should accelerate on Sunday with the chance to get their hands on the title.

Of course, there’s still a lot of work to do if he wants to finish on Sunday, and Tiger is well aware of that. “We’re already there,” he said after the round. “There are a lot of teams there, we have to shoot another set tomorrow. And, you know, make some birdies and hopefully we can do that to get off to a good start and then build on that on the back nine.”
